Reet Trails grew out of a simple belief. The people who know these mountains best should be the ones sharing them with the world.
Over the years we watched travellers arrive full of excitement but sometimes let down by rushed schedules, unsafe pacing or hidden charges. We knew Nepal deserved better, and so did every traveller who came to see it.
So we built Reet Trails around three promises. Guide with real local knowledge, put safety and honesty first, and make sure our trips give back to the mountain communities we come from. When you trek with us you are not booking a package, you are joining a team that treats your journey as personally as our own.

I grew up in the hill country of Nepal, where the mountains are not a destination but a neighbourhood. My first job on these trails was as a schoolboy porter, hauling camping loads of fifty-plus kilos when I myself weighed barely forty-five. To this day I'm not entirely sure how that skinny boy managed it, but I know those loads taught me more about patience, grit and looking after guests than any classroom ever could.
Life then took a detour through the office world: more than five years as an HR and Operations Head in a software company, learning how to truly listen to people, build teams and run things properly. The trails kept calling, though. In 2019 I completed my formal guide training, earned my government licence, and turned a lifelong bond with the Himalaya into my life's work.
Travel shaped me as much as the mountains did. I've been lucky to explore Israel, Malaysia, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and northern India, never to collect stamps, but because I'm a people person to the bone. Other people's beliefs, languages, kitchens and ways of life are my favourite scenery, and every guest teaches me something new about the world.
Away from work, I try to give back quietly where I can, from helping initiate a support project for cancer patients to regular contributions to orphanages and elderly homes here in Nepal. I don't mention this to impress anyone; it's simply the habit of service that Reet Trails grew out of. When I serve people wholeheartedly, my soul feels at peace. The business side is just the by-product.
And I'll be honest with you: Reet Trails is not the oldest agency in Nepal, and I have deep respect for the experienced, hardworking companies that paved this path long before us. But years alone don't measure intent. What I can promise is care, honesty, and a team that has been welcoming trekkers since our school days, first as porters, now as your hosts.
Behind every Reet Trails journey is a team of licensed guides, experienced porters and a dedicated office crew who plan, coordinate and stay on call throughout your trip.
Our guides hold government trekking licenses and wilderness first aid training, speak fluent English and often more languages, and carry years of experience on the exact routes they lead.
The mountains have given us everything. Protecting them, and the communities that live in them, is central to how we work.
