Gokyo Lakes Trek
Everest's quieter valley. A chain of turquoise glacial lakes, the huge Ngozumpa Glacier, and a summit view many say beats Base Camp.

The most famous walk in the Himalaya, up through Sherpa country, across swaying suspension bridges, to the foot of the highest mountain on Earth.
Some walks live up to the postcards. The trail to Everest Base Camp is one of them: prayer-flag bridges over the Dudh Koshi, the amphitheatre town of Namche Bazaar, monasteries at Tengboche, and finally the Khumbu Icefall crackling beside base camp itself.
Our version of this classic is built around acclimatising properly. Two dedicated adjustment days, sensible stages, and a guide who has walked this valley since childhood mean you arrive at 5,364 m feeling strong, and climb Kala Patthar the next dawn for the best Everest view of all.
This is our tried-and-tested general plan. After our first chat we fine-tune every day around your dates, group, pace and fitness, and send you a dedicated, real-time itinerary that matches your trip exactly.
Lukla flights can shift with mountain weather, so we always suggest keeping one buffer day in Kathmandu before your international flight. We rebook and manage any changes for you.

The complete Khumbu: Renjo La, Cho La and Kongma La in one horseshoe, linking Gokyo, Everest Base Camp and every great view in between.

A stone staircase through rhododendron forest into a natural amphitheatre of 7,000 and 8,000-metre peaks. The perfect first Himalayan trek.
