Overview

Into the Annapurna Sanctuary

Few treks reward you as quickly and completely as Annapurna Base Camp. In little more than a week you pass through terraced farmland, dense rhododendron forest and welcoming Gurung and Magar villages before entering the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Base Camp sits at 4,130 m inside a ring of soaring peaks, so you are surrounded by Himalayan walls on every side. Add in the hot springs at Jhinu Danda on the way down and you have one of the most satisfying short treks in Nepal.

Trek highlights

  • The breathtaking Annapurna Sanctuary amphitheatre
  • Sunrise on Annapurna I and Machhapuchhre
  • Natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda
  • Charming Gurung villages and rhododendron forest
  • Achievable in a week, great for shorter holidays
